New SeaRoad Equipment Arrives

SeaRoad Logistics have committed to a major capital investment in new equipment. Seven new, fuel efficient Kenworth prime movers and a variety of new trailers, all with state-of-the-art features, have been received and are now in use. This new equipment positions SeaRoad well for the future, as leaders in the transport industry with a commitment to servicing our customers’ needs and reducing our carbon footprint.

January saw the commissioning of the second new Hyster forklift in the Shipping Devonport terminal, the first new forklift having been delivered to Webb Dock. The Devonport machine is an H50 20/40 toplift, which means it can lift both 20′ and 40′ full containers by the top corner castings. The Webb Dock machine, which was commissioned in December, is an H40 blade machine, which means it can lift 20′ boxes by the tine pockets at the bottom of the container. These two new units replace two of the older Hyster machines.

This new equipment complemented the commissioning of four RT282 Terberg heavy duty terminal tractors that were delivered to Webb Dock and Devonport.
