Searoad Tamar breaks record

In a very important milestone for SeaRoad the crew of the Searoad Tamar recently celebrated a 789 LTI free day record (which equates to over 2 years without an Injury) beating the previous record of 728.

On Thursday 27th May the Searoad Tamar arrived at Devonport with her flags spelling out Camp Quality.

As a reward the company presented a donation to Camp Quality Tasmania of $7000, the biggest in the ships history. The crew of the Searoad Tamar has been donating LTI free period awards to Camp Quality Tasmania since the ship entered its trade in 1991.

Captain Toby Shelton said “I have to thank the crew for working safely, it is a pretty hazardous environment”.

“The crew acknowledges the great work Camp Quality Tasmania do for the children and families suffering from cancer and are extremely happy to keep working safely and hopefully accrue more injury free days”.

Recognition for our achievement also came from Tasports ,where John Johnston, Manager for Health and Safety congratulated SeaRoad on its record. “Tasports considers safety as the organisations number one priority and is committed to the safe management of Tasmania’s ports.” “I congratulate you and your crew supporting safety at Tasports sites and achieving this significant safety milestone”.
